Although Gane (9-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) was unable to finish opponent Alexander Volkov (33-9 MMA, 7-3 UFC), his lopsided unanimous decision win at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas showed that the depth of his skill set is increasing, and he has the tools to become champion. For someone who has only been a professional fighter since August 2018, Gane’s run to prominence is nothing short of mind-blowing, and it would very compelling to see if he could get his hands on the belt if given the opportunity. With the lay of the land being tricky at heavyweight, though, Gane finds himself in an awkward position moving forward
