Iconic sporting brand Everlast has signed Leah McCourt , making her “the first female athlete to be placed on an apparel deal from the U.K.,” according to the company. The 110-year-old sporting equipment brand recently announced the signing. “Leah has a unique story and is making big waves in MMA,” Everlast chief marketing officer Chris Zoller stated. “She’s a groundbreaking competitor and an inspiration to young female athletes everywhere. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the team.” A native of Northern Ireland, the 28-year-old McCourt (4-1 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) is a judo black belt and the 2016 International Mixed Martial Arts Federation amateur world champion. After suffering a loss in her professional debut, she has since rattled off four consecutive victories, including three under the Bellator banner.
