After losing to women’s flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 247 in February, Chookagian (13-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) is now expected to meet Antonina Shevchenko (8-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) at the UFC’s next event on May 30. MMA Junkie verified the matchup is in the process of being finalized with multiple people close to the situation. The people requested anonymity because the UFC has yet to make an official announcement. The UFC’s May 30 event, which does not have an a name, is slated for the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, pending Nevada Athletic Commission approval on the resumption of combat sports in Nevada.
