Tatiana Suarez entered the UFC 312 co-main event title fight in Sydney, Australia against champion Zhang Weili with an undefeated record and a plan to win UFC gold. She won the first round on all three judges’ scorecard but Weili changed the momentum in the second frame and carried it to a dominating unanimous decision win. During the fight, Suarez suffered a large laceration on her knee from the cage during a grappling exchange.
