The UFC put on its first two title fights of the year on Saturday at UFC 247, and the outcomes could not have been more different. Dominick Reyes (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) went into Toyota Center in Houston and nearly pulled off an all-time moment when he pushed UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) to the brink over the course of five rounds, but ultimately came out on the wrong end of a unanimous decision . But it wasn’t the same story for Katlyn Chookagian (13-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC).
