With his latest victory, Leon Edwards is finally starting to get some of the respect he believes he’s long deserved. Edwards (18-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) was magnificent in a decision win over former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos at this past weekend’s UFC on ESPN 4 in San Antonio, and he ascends to No. 10 in the latest edition of the USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie MMA welterweight rankings, marking the highest position he’s ever enjoyed. For “Rocky,” it’s a start, but he has his eyes on the top of the division, hoping for either a clash with Jorge Masvidal, who currently sits at No. 4, or a rematch with current champ Kamaru Usman, who is the last man to beat Edwards after handing him a decision loss in December 2015
