AUSTIN, Texas – Joseph Benavidez dominated Dustin Ortiz from bell to bell, but it was certainly no walk in the park. Ortiz (14-4 MMA, 3-2 UFC) took Benavidez’s (21-4 MMA, 8-2 UFC) best shots and kept coming, taking the fight to the scorecards despite the certainty of its result. The flyweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC Fight Night 57 event at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. It aired on FOX Sports following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. From the opening round on, Benavidez landed big shots almost at will, hammering Ortiz with big right hands and several head kicks that might have knocked out other opponents.
