MEXICO CITY – Using speed and a smooth transition game, Kelvin Gastelum (10-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) turned Jake Ellenberger ’s (29-9 MMA, 8-5 UFC) aggression against him, locking up a rear-naked choke just seconds after being taken down and forcing the tap at 4:46 of Round 1. The welterweight bout was the co-main event of today’s UFC 180 event at Mexico City Arena. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. Early on in this fight it looked like both fighters would be content to bang it out on the feet, with each man landing a few powerful punches to give the other something to think about in the early going. But as Gastelum pressed forward on the feet, Ellenberger stung him with a counter combination that seemed sufficiently unpleasant so as to convince Gastelum to take the fight to the floor. After Gastelum scored the initial takedown, however, he was unable to capitalize, and then it was Ellenberger’s turn
