LEDYARD, Conn. – Ben Rothwell  (34-9 MMA, 4-3 UFC) and Alistair Overeem  (37-14 MMA, 2-3 UFC) went punch for punch, but only Rothwell was left standing. Rothwell, a significant underdog, caught Overeem behind the ear with a right hand as a left hook came his way, and Overeem toppled to the mat in the first round of their main-card fight. The heavyweight bout was the co-main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 50 event at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Conn. It aired on FOX Sports 1.
