The Nevada Sate Athletic Commission plans to investigate the UFC 178 Media Day altercation between light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier , and the UFC is also prepared to hand out sanctions. “This is certainly not a proud moment for the UFC organization,” Kirk Hendrick, the UFC’s Chief Legal Officer, told UFC.com . “We expect more from our athletes, especially these two gentlemen, who are very well-trained and highly educated professionals. Their actions were clearly a violation of the UFC’s code of conduct.” The Nevada State Athletic Commission has requested a video copy of the brawl, which took place at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on Monday as the fighters were brought on stage for a customary face-off for the media.
