Travis Browne is ready to welcome fellow UFC heavyweight and former opponent Alistair Overeem to Team Jackson-Winkeljohn with open arms. FOX Sports 1’s “UFC Tonight” reported earlier this week that after a recent change in management groups , Overeem was seeking a new home for training camps. The former Strikeforce heavyweight champion prevuously prepared for his bouts in Florida, Holland and Thailand over the past few years, and now it appears he’ll see how he fits at one of the world’s most renowned gyms. While on the surface it’d seem there could be some potential conflict between Overeem (37-13 MMA, 2-2 UFC) and the gym’s top heavyweight in Browne (16-1-1 MMA, 7-1-1 UFC), “Hapa” said he was the one who cleared the idea with the coaching staff. “I actually embrace the idea,” Browne told MMAjunkie.
