In UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey ‘s first defense of her belt, against Liz Carmouche at UFC 157 last year, Carmouche put Rousey in all kinds of trouble by taking her back and applying a rear naked choke. While that could have spelled the end of Rousey’s jump into the superstar stratosphere before it even began, the champ’s keen understanding of how to break the hold and set up another armbar victory was nothing short of impressive.
