It’s October already, and we’re nine months through another year in MMA. Somehow we’ve made it through 36 UFC events despite all this worry of oversaturation and the sport’s ceiling, and we’re cruising toward a spate of high profile, end-of-year pay-per-view cards – wait, you’re still watching, right? One weekend removed from Stoolgate and the ivory suits of UFC 178, we’re on to another doubleheader Saturday – the third of four this year – with UFC Fight Night 53 and UFC Fight Night 54. Respectively, the events take place in the budding hotbed of Stockholm and the, we’ll say, emerging Canadian market of Halifax. The latter marks the first time the promotion has touched down in the Great White North’s province of Nova Scotia in a year where plans for five Canadian shows went south; UFC 178 was bumped from Toronto to Las Vegas
